Our Annual General Meeting: Open to the Public

aabhs-logo Jumoke (pronounced Joo-MOH-keh) is a Nigerian word which means “ Everyone Loves The Child. ”

Camp Jumoke was founded in 1994 by The Association for the Advancement of Blacks in Health Sciences (AABHS) and is dedicated to enriching the lives of children who have Sickle Cell Disorder (SCD). In its first year of operation, 40 children attended the camp for two weeks.


Jumoke's Mandate

The continuing mandate of the Camp Jumoke Organization is to better serve the needs of hundreds of children across Canada afflicted with Sickle Cell Disease. Your contributions help send kids to a camp where they can participate in outdoor activities, develop lifelong memories and relationships, enhance self-esteem, create support networks and so much more.


Positions Available On The Board
...

  • The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING is the time and place for electing members to the board of Camp Jumoke. The directors are responsible for the day to day operation of the Camp Jumoke Not-for- Profit Cooperation. All members are volunteers. The A.G.M. occurs in October of each year following the walk-a-thon - our biggest source of funds to send the children to camp. It is also, shortly after the return of the children from camp and the brunch which usually take place in September in acknowledgement of International Sickle Cell Month.
