Camp Jumoke's 5th Annual Beverly Mascoll Scholarship Award Brunch

"Enriching the live of children affected with the Sickle Cell disease"

Camp Jumoke hosted the 5th Annual Beverly Mascoll Scholarship Award Brunch on Sunday, October 19th, 2008 from 11 am to 4:00 pm.

The brunch took place at the newly renovated "De Great Iron Pot", which is located at 55 Nugget Avenue in Scarborough, Ontario.

The inspiration for Camp Jumoke's brunch theme "Yes We Can!" finds its roots in the presidential candidacy of Senator Barack Obama. This universal statement profoundly signifies Camp Jumoke's commitment to sending more children to summer camp and to raise awareness for Sickle Cell Disease, despite the many challenges which exist in charitable fundraising.

Our Keynote speaker was Opal berry-viera, a very strong young woman that grew up with sickle cell disease but never had the opportunity to experience Camp Jumoke.

Camp Jumoke would like to give a special thank you to the two young campers that did some fantastic dance routines for us.

Please check our site regularly as we are in the process of assembling footages form the brunch and will soon have some available for you to enjoy online.
