How to do the  "Turtle Walk"

doing the turtle walk

We would like this years walk to be more lively, entertaining, informative and most of all FUN!
To achieve this, all are encouraged to bring  their favorite noise maker (i.e.)cymbal/drum/triangle/and or  tamborines.

Also, any and everyone to create some cheers/chants  and submit them to be compiled and distributed during registration at Nathon Phillips Square on walk day...Saturday, May 30, 2009.

This way we can all work in unison to deliver a strong message while on the route!

We hope that our campers will seize this opportunity to make this their walk and really play a major role in the success of turtle walk 2010.

We suggest that the youths form Spirit Squads with their close friends and rehearse ahead of time so they can lead their favourite chant.

The plan is to collect a few distinct and informative, short, sweet, concise and to the point chants or thirty and sixty second commercials for and about Camp Jumoke.

Chants that are used will be feature on our website and be made available for download. The author will be acknowledge and featured on the site too, if so desired.

The Significance of the TurtlePlease check in often, as we will be adding new chants weekly until the walk-a-thon. also, there will be a small tutorial on how to record your chant and send a sample to us ... so others can catch the rhythm of your piece.

Currently, there is no known cure for SCD. However, effective medical care, such as painkillers and blood transfusions, make it possible for those who have the disease to better cope with the complications. Gene Therapy also offers hope for the future of a possible cure.

The Future Leaders Integration Protocol (FLIP)

First and Only One In Canada Is the process by which Camp Jumoke hopes to assist its cleintelle as they move out of the camping age range and into fully functioning positive members of Canadian Society as a whole. This process will rely heavily on the input of these special young people with the guidance of mentors and a support network of experts in the fields of living a balanced life.
