One Child's Story ... Camp Jumoke's 2011/12 Poster Child

My name is Ndidi Arimah. I am 12 years old and I am going into Grade 7 at St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Bow-manville, Ontario. I have had the opportunity of going to camp for three straight years and the experiences I have had each time leave me looking forward to the next year with a lot of expectations.

Poster Child with miss Canada

Camp has helped me to build my self confidence. Be-cause of the camp experience, I am now able to stand in front of a crowd with confidence and do presenta-tions and other activities that put me in the public view.

Because I have had all these wonderful and life-changing experiences and a great time at camp over the last three years, I think I would be a good poster child for Camp Jumoke, to speak to other children with sickle cell about the positive impact Camp
Jumoke will have on their lives.

Sickle Cell Anemia is a family affair; that was one child's story... and there are many more. Check out this Newspaper article on a "Camp Jumoke" Family.
